Install and use

  1. Download and fully extract the ZIP. Close all Revit windows.
  2. Run install.cmd. The installer detects your installed Revit versions and installs the matching plugin. Administrator rights are not required.
  3. Open a Revit project and select Add-Ins → External Tools → Export to StructMatch.
  4. Choose a save location and export .smrevit.
  5. Select Model A and Model B in StructMatch, then align, pair and compare. Use two .smrevit files or combine .smrevit with .ifc.

The website does not read .rvt directly. First export .smrevit using the plugin on a computer with Revit installed.

Export scope and compatibility

Exports structural framing and structural column family instances from the active document, not just selected elements. Linked models are excluded. Members that cannot be interpreted reliably may be display-only.

2026.10.19 · Unified installer for five Revit versions. Separate report and diagnostics output is disabled.

To update, close Revit, extract the new package and run install.cmd again for the current Windows user.
